Mycelium = Home

Mycelihome is an initiative to solve homelessness using 100% organic, 100% sustainable and 100% safe and healthy mycelium based construction.

Homelessness Solved

Our Mycelium Homes can be grown in-situ cheaply using totally sustainable materials and are 100% organic.

About Mycelihomes

Mycelihomes can be constructed using minimal machinery and when necessary only human labor. The construction is waterproof, earthquake resistant and has a high strength to weight ratio and very insulating. The process is simple and cost effective:

  1. Dig a hole in the ground four foot deep and at the width and length to suit purpose. For homeless people we recommend a 100 sq ft starter dwelling.
  2. Use the mycelium roof mix to line the hole with approx six inches of form around hole. (Remember to lay lifting straps or ropes to enable the team to lift the mycelium mold or shell)
  3. Allow mycelium to grow for approx six weeks.
  4. Lift formed shell and flip as to form a roof over hole.
  5. Cut holes for windows and door and vents in shell and finishes.
  6. Use the mycelium floor mix to line the hole with approx six inches of form around hole. (no need for ropes as this floor shell will stay in-situ.
  7. Any finishes like cup holders, shelves, light recess can be molded at this stage by hand
  8. Allow mycelium to grow for approx six weeks.
  9. Attach mycelium shell roof
  10. Move into your new tiny home that is grown using biofabrication

You can also grow Mycelium furniture and fixtures.
